Step 1: Plan Your Layout First
Students begin by drawing 4–6 ovals across the top half of the page:

This step helps students build a strong composition before adding details.
Step 2: Add Petals One Flower at a Time
Students start with one oval and draw long, skinny petals all the way around it. Then they move to the next flowers, repeating the same process.
Step 3: Learn Overlapping (The Key Skill)
As petals begin to run into other flowers, students:
• stop their line
• pick up their pencil
• continue on the other side
This creates the illusion that one flower is in front of another and adds depth to the drawing.
Step 4: Add Stems Using the Same Technique
